Victoria Lemon's Sierra Leone Book Drive

04/30/2018 to 08/16/2018
Warrenville IL

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

Hi, I'm Victoria Lemon and literacy has always been an important part of my life. As a child, I didn't learn to read until I went to public school in third grade. Gaining that invaluable skill and, as a child, a bridge into a place where the imagination could run wild, I grew to appreciate and value reading. Knowing how much my life changed for the better when I learned to read caused me to realize the power of literacy and the power of giving someone a book, which is why I want to help children in Sierra Leone experience the wonderful journey of the written word.

You can also contact us to find out ways to get involved at a book packing or fundraising event or email me for some flyers to hand out around town. Any and all help is greatly appreciated, it takes a village to pull off a project like this, and only with your help will it be possible.
